Quick TIp, solve nginx issue with Typo5

I really don't know why I'm so obsessed with keeping my old blog up and running. All of my problems started when I started using Nginx instead of Lighttpd on that server. Overall, I much prefer Nginx so I wanted to get the issue sorted rather than stepping back. The good news was the the Typo production log did not show any errors or register any activity. That meant the core problem was from Nginx itself. Sure enough looking at the nginx log gave me this piece of info:

2010/03/25 15:12:17 [crit] 26454#0: *1 pread() failed, file

Fortunately, good saved the day. The solution to my particular issue was posted here and is as simple as adding this block to your nginx.conf file:

if (-f $request_filename.html) {
  rewrite (.*) $1.html break;
}

After that, just restart Nginx and you should be all set!
